Silver Creek Meritage Homes has started construction finalizing in this new community Lafayette CO. This neighborhood is known for its well-built, highly efficient homes that are centrally located in the community of Lafayette. The subdivision is located between the north-south roads of 111th and Hwy 287 and the east-west roads of Arapahoe and Baseline. The community has great walkability with easy access to the Lafayette Library as well as the King Soopers grocery store and its surrounding amenities. This area also has easy access to the Lafayette’s ‘Main Street’ which is named the ‘Public Road’. Another benefit of this location is access to open space and trails. In just a couple of blocks one can access the Kneebone Open Space, which takes you to the Erie Reservoir and beyond! Trust me because I use it; there is more than enough space for even the most avid runners to enjoy without ever tiring of the beautiful open space. So if you like walking to fun activities and restaurants, this community would be a great choice!

Models

There are 4 home styles to choose from when picking your styles for new construction. They include The Gunnison, The Monarch, The Cimarron, The Colorado and The Arkansas. The first two mentioned, The Gunnison and The Monarch, are both around 1600-1700 sq ft . The big difference being that The Gunnison has an extra powder bath, and upgrade to the standard 2 baths in The Monarch. Another feature of The Monarch is that it is a one story, or a ranch. This can be a highly coveted style of home because you don’t climb stairs to get between levels. There is a mid-sized home, which is the Cimarron. It comes in just over 2100 sq ft. The larger homes are The Colorado and The Arkansas. These homes are 2200-2400 sq ft (approximately). Both of these properties are 2 stories. They each have 3 bedrooms and a 2 car garage. They both have a powder bath in addition to the two full bathrooms located close to the bedrooms.

Energy Standards

All of these homes are built to high standards of efficiency. They pride themselves on their choices for energy efficient upgrades and high standard HERS ratings. The HERS is the Home Energy Rating System. This is a system for scoring the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to measure a home’s energy efficiency in relation to the HERS Reference Home, which is represented by a score of 100 on the HERS Index.

Taking into account different climatic regions and the energy consumption for the HERS Reference Home in that region, a HERS Index assessment helps determine if it meets ENERGY STAR® guidelines. The lower the HERS Index, the more energy efficient the home. A one-point decrease in the HERS Index corresponds to a 1% reduction in energy consumption compared to the HERS Reference Home. Therefore, a home with a HERS Index of 80 is 20% more energy efficient than the HERS Reference Home.

A typical new-construction home built in the energy efficiency standards scores about 100 on the HERS Index, whereas a typical resale home scores works and an average ENERGY STAR® home scores better. Mertiage Homes was the first national builder to make every home built 100% ENERGY STAR® certified. They consistently strive to exceed the minimum ENERGY STAR® requirements to build homes that achieve HERS scores as low as 61. They also introduced the first cost-effective NET ZERO home by a national builder.
