What’s Happening in Downtown Lafayette
201 North Public Road Lafayette, Colorado
Last known as La Familia Mexican restaurant, 201 North Public Road has been a historic cafe and stopping point for people passing through Lafayette since the early 1930’s. A historic Coca-Cola mural was recently discovered under the plaster and will be preserved and installed onto a new building.
Plans for the now vacant building will also include a 1,700 square feet for a new restaurant, William Olivers, and another 1,700 square feet is to be set aside for an art gallery. William Olivers is a Colorado based pub specializing in whiskey and bacon!
101-103 North Public Road Lafayette, Colorado
Lafayette, Colorado was incorporated in 1890. Many of the buildings in Downtown Lafayette have been around for quite some time! 101 North Public Road is one of these. The building has been a bank, a pool hall, and a drugstore. The original bank vault is still in the building and will be showcased inside the renovated building!
The approved plans for this historic building will bring a fresh new look and modern setting to Downtown Lafayette. Outdoor patio seating and huge new transom windows will be a perfect restaurant setting.
206 South Public Road – Community Restaurant
Almost complete, and set to open by the end of 2016, Community will be a locally inspired, comfort food focused restaurant. The menu already looks amazing. Everything from chicken pot pie, to Colorado chili with lamb, and rum-butter roasted acorn squash, there should be enough options to keep everyone happy. With patios in the front, and back, Community is shaping up to be a fantastic family restaurant.
