Blue Heron Estates Lafayette
Blue Heron Estates Lafayette is a gated community known for its luxurious and spacious homes on sprawling lots and large, mature trees. The community experiences a rich connectedness of neighbors. The social committee strives to create special activities that encourage connection among members. This includes an annual Easter Egg Hunt, New Neighbor Happy Hour, Halloween Chili cook-off, and other holiday parties. They even host a family camp-out in the big main park! And the annual Holiday Lighting Celebration concludes the year with a horse drawn carriage and even a visit from Santa Claus! For more information about the HOA and its activities see the Blue Heron Estate Lafayette website.
Speaking of the park, there is an expansive green space in the center of the neighborhood. This space serves as a meeting point for residents who play games there, have picnics and gather for events or parties. There is a tennis court at this park that are available to residents for use. There is even a pool, baby pool, and clubhouse that serves as the heart of the community. The clubhouse can be reserved by homeowners and also hosts weekly neighbor poker night, monthly board meetings, and quarterly wine and cheese new neighbor welcome parties.
Blue Heron Estates Real Estate
A hidden gem, Blue Heron Estates and Blue Heron South is comprised of 187 unique, custom homes. The first filing of home builds was 1993 and slowly filled in until 2006. Blue Heron Estates has 137 homes and are the older part of the neighborhood with 3500-6000 square feet homes. The neighborhood encircles a semi-private turf grass park as well as a pool, tennis court and playground. The north side of the neighborhood backs to Blue Heron Lake and open space that has a crushed gravel trail covered by large, mature cottonwood trees.
Blue Heron South was designed with ranch homes and all front yards are maintained by the HOA. There are some 2-story homes in this section as the demand for family homes increased above no-maintenance ranch homes. There is also a separate gated entrance to the South end of Blue Heron and only the 50 residents in this section are allowed transponder access to that gate, thereby reducing the amount of through traffic.
