Tulip Fairy and Elf Parade

Every spring, as the tulips begin to bloom, tulip fairies and elves descend upon the Pearl Street Mall to celebrate the beautiful blooms. While this might sound like a dream that I am describing, I can assure you it is very real and a really great time for the whole family. Downtown Boulder puts on the Tulip Fairy and Elf festival every year and it is the perfect opportunity for kids to wear their favorite fairy and elf costumes for a day of fun. But don’t feel left out as an adult, everyone is encouraged to dress up and take part in the magic of the Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival, where the young and the young at heart will feel truly at home.

The festivities take place on the lawn of the courthouse on the Pearl Street mall, and include plenty of activities for the kids. Did we mention that the kids can have their photo taken with their favorite tulip fairy? Bring your friends and spend the afternoon playing and dancing in the spring sunshine downtown. The day is capped off with a parade led by the tulip fairy herself, as she guides all of her little fairies and elves through the mall in celebration of the arrival of the colorful tulips.

Tulip Fairy & Elf Festival Activities:

  • sword dueling
  • a dinosaur dig
  • face painting
  • cookie decorating
  • bubbles
  • art & education about local wildlife
  • music
  • much more!
