Donation to the Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow
The buyers of 4670 Kirkwood in Boulder, CO understand that living on the streets can be really hard. Because of this they used their non-profit donation from the close of a real estate transaction for the Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow, also known as BOHO.
BOHO believes that no human should be forced to sleep outside during dangerous weather. Not only do they provide beds for the homeless in Boulder, but they now operate nightly Emergency Warming Centers from November to March.
An amazing aspect of this organization is they employ formerly or currently homeless people. This is because they have a unique understanding of the rough life and challenges the homeless face in their community. They don’t just pay minimum wage, but fair wage. This helps the homeless get back on their feet and obtain real life skills to integrate back into mainstream society.
They have two huge programs that help fill in the gaps that the Boulder support network creates. One of those is the “Women’s” program. This gives women a safe private refuge. The main goal of the program is to help the female homeless population. The other program they have is the “Summer Sleep.” This program gives a safe and legal area for the homeless to sleep in the summer.
BOHO is an amazing organization that is making huge strides in the homeless population. They are making new progress every day.
