Little Free Library in Boulder County
Take a book & return a book – that is the philosophy of the Little Free Library Boulder project. This is a movement about so much that just so happens to include reading, too! It is all about the beauty of holding a book, and not a kindle. Its about creating community by inviting neighbors to share.
This truly is giving without the expectation of receiving, because the little library is truly free encouraging people to be inspired by what they read on the pages of each new book. You might even be inspired to contribute a book of your own to the library to keep this precious movement alive.
I particularly like going with my daughter to these little corner book exchanges. I can see that the experience enriches her sense of community each time we give a book to a new little box on another street corner. It also her excites he and encourages her to read a new book, which is much better than any screen-time that might otherwise fill the void. I am inspired by the creativity that each home owner puts into building their Little Free Library Boulder! Their inspiration, talent and creative skill has prompted me to geo-locate these unique boxes of generosity so that you too can see how big this movement has become. Giving for the sake of giving and educating our kids in more ways than one. I love it!
