Bolder Boulder Race This Weekend!

bolder boulder race

The Bolder Boulder race needs no introduction, and yet it is so much more than just a race. This Boulder event was founded in 1979 as another 10k race, and it has grown to the huge event that it has become today. With more than 50,000 participants, it is easy to understand how this race shuts down a portion of Boulder on Memorial Day each and every year.

There are a number of things that set this iconic 10k race apart from all the rest. For starters, you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery we know and love here in Boulder as you run. With a backdrop like the flatirons, runners can find inspiration, and even distraction, from any desire to slow down or stop along the way. But for those who want more than just beautiful scenery for a distraction, the course is packed with fun so you have little chance of getting bored on this race. With live music, food, dancers, and a new surprise around every turn it’s no wonder this Bolder Boulder race packs in so many interested participants each year. And if all of that wasn’t enough, what’s waiting for you at the finish line is sure to provide the inspiration you need to finish the race. With the promise of a stadium full of spectators (70,000 to be exact!) cheering you on to the finish line, you can live out every gold-medal finish moment your little heart has ever dreamed of as you enter Folsom Field for the final stretch of the race.

The fun doesn’t stop once you cross the finish line, either. The Bolder Boulder expo is waiting nearby for your enjoyment. Here, you can rehydrate, refuel, and pick up plenty of swag while enjoying some great live entertainment, complete with hula dancers, live music, waterslides, and so much more.

This iconic event is capped off with skydivers and a flyover, with a touching tribute to those who have served our great country as the ultimate grand finale.

One of the best things about this event is that you don’t have to be a runner (or even participate in the race at all!) to enjoy the festivities. There’s a reason more than 70,000 spectators come out to cheer on the racers and enjoy all of the buzz around the Bolder Boulder race.
